West Broad Neighborhood Revitalization Framework

Client: Multi-Agency Partnership (Athens-Clarke County, Athens Housing Authority, Athens Land Trust, and Clarke County School District)

Location: Athens, Georgia

Contribution: Principal-in-Charge, Lead Urban Designer, and project strategist. Directed project content, stakeholder engagement, and overall planning process.

This planning effort established a shared revitalization framework for an underserved neighborhood near downtown Athens, aligning four public and nonprofit partners around a common vision for future investment. Existing conditions, redevelopment opportunities, and eight priority sites were evaluated to identify coordinated strategies for housing, schools, parks, public spaces, neighborhood services, and streetscape improvements. Rather than producing a traditional master plan, the study created a practical roadmap to help each partner understand its role in strengthening the neighborhood and coordinating future implementation.

Project completed while at Lord Aeck Sargent.
