Northeast Residential Design Standards

Client: Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority (OCURA)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contribution: Principal-in-Charge and Lead Residential Designer. Led the development of the residential design standards, prepared hand-drawn design studies and housing prototypes, and directed the creation of the design pattern book and design review process. Provided ongoing design review services for initial infill housing projects following adoption of the standards.

The Design Standards establish a framework for compatible infill housing across approximately two square miles of northeast Oklahoma City. The project documented neighborhood development patterns and architectural character, identifying distinct housing typologies and the defining features that contribute to each. Building on this analysis, the standards provide site planning guidance, architectural design recommendations for six housing types, and a review process that helps staff and developers create new homes that reinforce the character and quality of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Project completed while at Lord Aeck Sargent.
